Paulina Nieliwocki, Floral Designer
Hey Paulina, go ahead and tell us a little bit about yourself and what you do
Hi! I am the owner/ founder of Blue Jasmine Floral. Before becoming a floral designer I was a high school language teacher, and made the transition 6 years ago. I am obsessed with flowers, I truly love them! I’m super drawn to dainty accents, color, texture, and each stems’ unique shape. While designing, the flowers and foliage are what guide and inspire me. I believe that highlighting the nuances of nature allows each design to tell a unique story, communicate a specific tone, and elicit a feeling.
I love your passion for flowers--I can tell how important they are to you. Where are you from and where do you call home now?
I am from New Jersey, and I have always called the Garden State home.
Where did your love for flowers come from or what first drew you to flowers?
My love of flowers is embedded in my brain, since I have memory. When I was super young I would pick wildflowers (most likely weeds) from the yard and make mini bouquets for my grandmother.
How adorable! What are you working on at the moment?
I am working on launching a new website and pivoting my business to have a stronger floral education focus.
We love a good online educational resource! What are some inspiring words you love and live by?
Dream big or go home.
That is powerful. What’s a daily ritual that’s made an impact in your life?
Taking Mondays as a work from home day; allowing me to be productive on my computer, rest my body, get extra cuddles in with my kitty and (sometimes) time with my husband should he also work from home.
What a rewarding Monday! What are you drinking and eating currently?
Lot’s of coffee and soup.
What brings you pure joy?
Seeing a poppy fully open in all her glory.
Who is someone that had the most impact in your life for the better?
My parents. They immigrated to the USA in 1975 from Uruguay, they gave me the perfect example of hard-work, perseverance, and utter tenacity.
Where do you find inspiration or what have you found super inspiring lately?
I find inspiration in so many places: nature, food, home décor accents, shapes, fashion, textiles, textures, and I can keep going!
