Headquartered in one of the most diverse cities in the world in NYC, The Qi is founded based on the core value of COMMUNITY. Building authentic friendships and expressing love, support and gratitude to everyone that we come in contact with is a part of our DNA. We do our part in giving that love and support back to the people who need it most both locally and through out our business operations globally.

We are honored and proud to have contributed both in-kind support and cash donations to these below non-profit organizations and more. We are excited and looking forward to keep up lifting our community.

The impact of COVID-19 on small businesses was incredibly difficult and still proves to be something people are fighting to come back from. Knowing this first hand, we were so happy to be able to support Send Chinatown Love in January of 2021. Send Chinatown Love is an entirely volunteer run organization whose goal is to provide relief to small, immigrant owned Chinatown businesses impacted by the effects of COVID-19.

For Mother’s Day 2021, we are humbled to be able to donate hundreds of boxes of our Shangri-La Rose flower tea to Heart of Dinner. Heart of Dinner is a nonprofit organization that sends free meals to elderly Asian people in need. Their mission is to combat food insecurity and isolation within NYC’s elderly Asian American community.

In October of 2021, we were lucky to support Project by Project for their Plate by Plate Event. Project by Project is a nonprofit organization that aims to develop a pipeline for the next generation of Asian Americans in philanthropy.

With the release of our Trio Petite Flower Tea Set in April 2022 and the help of our amazing customers, we donated 10% of every purchase to Her Justice. Her Justice is a local NYC nonprofit organization that helps address individual and systemic legal barriers to NYC women and children living in poverty by recruiting and mentoring volunteer lawyers to provide free legal help.

In April 2022, we partnered with Prism Boutique to donate the proceeds of a Mother’s Day giveaway to New Life Beginnings. New Life Beginnings serves to help pregnant women of all backgrounds by providing caring and loving shelter to mothers to be and current mothers in need.

Being so grateful for the people and places that gave us a platform to tell our stories, we were thrilled to be able to donate to East Side Stories in April of 2022. East Side Store is a film non-profit, sharing authentic expressions of the Asian American & Pacific Islander experience through film, media, and education. They provide support and resources for AAPI creatives to thrive.

In May 2022, we were happy to support the amazing organization Apex for youth. Apex for Youth recruits young adults and working professionals to volunteer as mentors for underserved Asian and immigrant families in NYC. They provide mentoring and educational programs to help young people expand their possibilities and become prepared for the world.

We are strong believers that our future is in the youth, making it more important than ever to support our young people. In March of 2022, we were so happy that we could help empower the AAPI students of the Asian American Student Association of the University of Massachusetts.

With education being a privilege for many, we are so grateful to have been able to help Suit Up reach their goal of serving 5,000 students in June of 2021. Suit Up is a non-profit that increases career awareness for students in underserved communities by partnering with schools, youth organizations, and businesses to develop and implement educational competitions in communities across the US, Canada, and the UK.

As animal lovers, we try to share as much love as possible with all beings of the earth! That’s why we were thrilled to help support Wags & Walks. Wags & Walks is a Los Angeles and Nashville based dog rescue whose main goal is to break the stigma around rescue dogs and decrease the number of dogs euthanized in local shelters.

In August 2022, we were proud to donate to support Angry Asian Womxn. Angry Asian Womxn is a group that sends free self defense kits and provides resources for NYC Asian and Pacific Islander women and femme identifying folks as a response to the rise in anti-Asian and misogynistic violence towards the community.

In support of the Chinese Students attending Boston University, we were lucky enough to donate to their Dumpling Night in November of 2022, which included a unique blend of culture and craft, to foster Chinese culture through learning and doing. Boston University’s Chinese Students Association is a non-profit organization that seeks to advance Chinese culture within Boston University and offer a home away from home for those in the greater Chinese community.

With The Qi being founded by a Chinese immigrant, we understand the plight of immigrants in this country and the importance of supporting them. Therefore, we were lucky to help support CAAAV. CAAAV works to develop the leadership of working class Asian immigrants to make a significant intervention in the gentrification of NYC by building neighborhood power in Chinatown and Astoria.

To return the favor to the community that allows us to express ourselves creatively, we were thrilled to support Asian CineVision. Asian CineVision provides a platform and creates an encouraging community of AAPI artists and storytellers in the media arts.
